We just can't get enough of this little girl. She has simply just swept us off our feet. I can't believe she is almost 1/2 a year old. I remember with Hayden I did try and cherish every moment when he was a baby because everyone said they grow up so fast and then learned really fast that that is definitely true. But also with Hayden, I was anxious and always looking forward to him meeting new milestones and seeing the new things he did. With her I seriously just want her to stay this age forever! Part of it is the possibility of this could be our last baby but basically I just want my baby to stay my baby!

Our sweet little girl has turned 3 months old. She has also learned to laugh and is very ticklish...its sooooo sweet! She is spoiling us with how well she is sleeping (12-13 hours) knock on wood! Her big brother wasn't near sleeping as well as she is at her age. Hayden started a mother's day out program at The Met, the church we have been going to, two days a week. He seems to be enjoying it even though he continues to be apprehensive when I drop him off. Mommy and Justley are really enjoying our one on one time on Thursdays when he is there. I thank God everyday for all the many blessings he has placed in our lives!

He would only carry his lunch box, he wouldn't put on his backpack.

2 Part 1
Does not equal 4! Well we are no longer parents of two under two! In one week we celebrated our new addition turning 2 months old and our first addition turning 2 years old! About a week before Hayden's birthday we took him to a Ranger game just mommy and daddy... he had a lot of fun! Then on his actual birthday we went to Let's jump with some friends and then had a birthday party on Saturday with friends and family! It was a week of celebration!

Friends Forever

In organizing my videos I came upon this first one of Hayden and Jaelynn when they were 5 and 7 months old. Can't believe how much they change in a little over a year! The second one was taken just a few weeks ago.
We are so very blessed to have friends so close and to be able to watch each others kiddos and not have to pay for daycare. It has been so much fun watching these two grow and develop over the past two years and become the best of friends!

One month has gone by and little Miss Justley has done a great job at stealing our hearts. She is so darn sweet and is already growing like a weed. At first I thought she was going to be kind of petite and not gain weight as fast as Hayden did because newborn clothes were big on her the first week (Hayden never even fit into nb clothes) and some 0-3 month are already getting snug! She has already given us a couple of smiles and is starting to sleep longer stretches at night. She is a typical girl as she loves attention! When she is kind of fussy and I know she is not tired or hungry all you have to do is look at her, talk to her, give her attention and she is one happy girl! (isn't that all girls!!))
We are so grateful for a sweet, little sister!

Last weekend we celebrated our Nation's birthday having some fun in the sun in our backyard, going to church and going to a 4th of July festival in Southlake. It was our first long outing with both kiddos. I must say the difficulty right now is not going out with two, its going out with a two year old!! We had a great time walking around, eating ice cream and watching fireworks!

Our attempt to get a picture of them together... He wasn't too keen about holding her so we gave him some fruit snacks (to get him still) and plopped her beside him.

Birthday Story

Better late than never, things have been kind of crazy around here with two kiddos and a mommy that can't lift or drive! But thank the Lord for great family and friends (and a great husband). If it weren't for them I don't know how I would have survived the first two weeks with two.
Little Miss Justley had to make things interesting for us this go around. I was scheduled to have her via c-section on June 14th secondary to fracturing my tailbone about a month prior. Dr said if I were to have her vaginal, I would risk injuring my tailbone even more. Since the date was set, it was in my head that that was the date and no way was it going to happen sooner!! haha
Well, ten days before this set date I decided it was ok to go to Sherman for a get together for one of my girlfriends birthdays. So against my mother's better judgment we headed up for the night with all intentions of coming straight home the next morning. My parents watched Hayden while we went to dinner with some friends. As soon as we got home and pretty much the second I laid my head on the pillow for the night I felt contractions. I laid there and timed them for about 30 mins before I woke Justin up, they were 10 mins apart but we were also an hour away from the hospital! Justin suggested I get up and walk around and see if they stop... nope. After saying "ok if I have one more then we will go" several times we finally got in the car and headed for Grapevine. They were getting closer together and stronger. We arrived at the hospital about 2am, and had to be monitored to make sure I was in true labor. We did this for over two hours because the contractions were still coming regularly but my cervix was not progressing. Finally Dr. Rost (not my actual dr, he was on a plane to Hawaii) decided he was going to go ahead and take her. And we had our precious baby girl before 7am Sat. morning!

Shower Time

Last weekend my sweet friends, Emily, Kelly, and Amy threw Justley and I a shower at The Cheesecake Factory! It was so much fun and we got lots of cute, girly things!
My Mimi, Gigi, and great-granny Hillger were able to be here!

We have been feeling a lot of LOVE around here at the Hillger household lately! Spending time with family and friends, joining a new group at church and most of all celebrating the ultimate gift of love from God on Easter.

We got to spend some time with auntie Ali and uncle Matt a few weeks ago when we went to a cousin's wedding!

We also got to spend some time with the Hillger family and cousin Thomas about a month ago!

Easter weekend we went to an amazing Easter service with mimi and poppa, had a wonderful Easter dinner and watched Hayden have his first Easter egg hunt which he caught on to very quickly!

Had a dr appt. today, BP is looking good which is a blessing because with Hayden by this time my blood pressure was going up. Everything looks good with our baby girl, after my next appt in two weeks I start going weekly!!! Wow how this time has gone by fast, definitely faster than the first pregnancy!
Praise GOD for all of His many acts of love in our lives right now!

Name game

So Hayden Dale was so easy... my grandfather's name and Justin's grandfather's name. Both men who are no longer with us but impacted both of our lives so much. Hadyen's name is so special to us and was a no brainer, no discussion coming up with it. This little girl on the other hand has no been so easy coming up with a name. We have had a list of name for a while now that we like but have not been able to decide on one. I was beginning to think we would just decide when we meet her and that would be ok but we have now made a decision!
Her name will be Justley Ann Hillger
In one of my many searches online of baby names I found a website that gave you ideas of coming up with a name of your own. One of them was putting mommy and daddy's names together.... so thats what we did! Ann is my middle name as well as my mom's middle name.

Today we had what was supposed to be our 24 week appt but I am alomost 26 weeks... we got behind when the doctor's office was closed for bad weather. The appt. went great! Everything looked great! Dr. New got a great shot of sister's face, she was looking right at us!

Oh where does the time go? In just 6 short months our baby will be TWO years old!!
Hayden now weights almost 30 lbs!! He has all of his teeth until two year old molars. He has offically had his first ear infection. He continues to do well in and loves going to swim lessons. He has become quite the little book worm, he LOVES to "read" books and have books read to him. He is not talking quite as much as I thought he would by now but I am sure it will come. It is so amazing just watching him grow and develop everyday into his own little personality. He is pretty shy when he gets around people and kiddos he doesn't know but warms up eventually. He also gives the best kisses ever! He is such a fun-loving little boy.

Just like everyone else we have been spending a lot of time inside lately, especially since Hayden was not a huge fan of the snow. We did get in Hayden's first time to the zoo right before all of the cold weather hit. We are ready for warmer weather to say the least!

It's been a while...

I am going to blame the pregnancy on the reason why I have not updated this thing in so long. The past couple of months I have been very tired and fairly nauseous with little to no appetite. Now rounding out the 1st trimester it is getting much better! I am able to eat much more and have more energy. I will say it has been a wee bit harder this go round I am sure one reason being I am chasing a toddler around! We had our 12 week appointment last week and everything looked great! When I was pregnant with Hayden I had such a strong feeling it was a boy that I was buying boy stuff before we actually found out! This go round I have not had such a strong feeling until our 12 week appointment. The sonogram picture above was from this last appointment and Dr. New pointed out that he or she's legs were crossed at the ankles. Well guess who always crosses their legs at the ankles.... Hayden and daddy. Especially when we are eating, Justin does it sitting in the chair at the kitchen table and Hayden does it sitting in his high chair. So now I kind of think its another little boy already following in his daddy's and brother's footsteps! We should soon find out at our next appointment the beginning of January!
In the meantime, Hayden is just growing up right before our very eyes! He got his first "big boy" haircut, which really does make him look like a big boy. He is running everywhere, starting to say more words here and there and continues to LOVE playing outside. We are very excited about Christmas coming up and getting to spend a lot of time with all of our family, especially Hayden's new baby cousin Thomas!
Also, sad to admit but picture taking has slowed way down. I can again partially blame that on the pregnancy for the past couple of months being tired and lazy. But also it seems as though whenever I do get the camera out he is on the move so fast that I can't even get a decent one!
These are a few that our friend Steven took for us to use on our Christmas cards. Only to be a fly on the wall to see Justin, Kelly (Steven's wife) and I and what we were doing to get Hayden to look and smile at the camera!! It was quite a site!

Not just first cousin, but Hayden's first, first cousin! Brian and Jessica (justin's brother) welcomed their baby boy, Thomas Michael Hillger, into this world on September 29th 2010! We are so happy for them, he is such a sweetie!

Friends, Family, and Fall!

Lately we have been spending a lot of time outside, I think Hayden would live outside if we let him. Thankfully the weather has gotten cooler to allow us to spend more time outside. Hayden has been having so much fun with his new car daddy found at a garage sale and also his t-ball set he got for his birthday! Also now that walking is his primary means of mobility (had to throw in PT jargon) he is loving playing on the playground at the end of our street!

Look at that face, he knew those oreos were not his! He had gotten into Kaley's bag of oreo mini's one day!

As you can see from the pictures below, alot of the last month has been spent trying to keep cool! We have been doing alot of swimming, playing, and visiting with friends and family this past month. Hayden continues to be such a curious george! He is into everything! And he loves being outside, he has now started to crawl to either the front or back door and whine to go outside! He is walking with his push toy really good now, but still hasn't ventured to take the "first step." He continues to babble constantly and "talk" in his own language... I think he is starting to associate dada with justin and mama with me as he will look at one of us and say it. They say that from now until the first bday food intake will go up and milk intake will go down... ummm don't really see that happening. I see both going up and staying up, guess hes just a growing boy!
Mommy and daddy are just trying to soak it all in!

well, really to tell you the truth not that much. little mr. continues to keep us on our toes. he continues to be all over the place, crawling everywhere, pulling up onto everything, and cruising everywhere! he has not really shown any signs of letting go and taking off on two yet. he has learned how to crawl up the stairs and he did start to wave hello/bye-bye (sporadically most of the time). he continues to LOVE being outside. he continues to eat ALOT! he continues to eat more and more finger foods as he doesn't really like to be spoon fed anymore. he continues to just play and chew on his sippy cup. he continues to babble and said ma ma for the first time today!! yay! (one day past mother's day) he continues to have four teeth. and he continues to bring so much joy to us each and everyday!

As these babies keep growing and growing, it is so much fun to watch them interact more and more. Here are a few pictures that I have taken over the past couple of weeks. Hayden and Jaelynn are so cute together, Jaelynn is getting to where she is pulling and tugging at Hayden just as much as Hayden is her. They are actually starting to play together and before we know it they will be chasing each other around the house!

This past weekend, we took a trip out to west texas to visit family and friends. Despite all the rain they have had, we did get one good day to spend some time outside and play.

the title of this post says it all! it is definitely crazy around the hillger household, but a good crazy, a really good crazy! here is what little mister is up to at 8 months old....

crawling ALL over the place
chases me around the house everywhere i go
pulls up on everything and cruises everywhere
says dada and babbles other syllables (not sure how to say that speechies)
is eating more and more finger foods
is starting to prefer finger foods or wants to take the spoon from me when i spoon feed him (video to come)
plays with a sippy cup
LOVES swim lessons
will jump, and when i say jump i mean fall, in the water from sitting on the side of the pool (video to come)
loves being outside
new favorite toy is the wagon
is fearless
loves swinging
loves playing, and when i say playing i mean trying to trample over, his girlfriend jealynn
still does not sleep through the night consistently
siezes to amaze mommy and daddy everyday with the new things he does and with the joy he brings

whats up with our adorable little man at 7 months old?? he has had alot of firsts in the past month... he has been sick for the first time with that bronchiolitis stuff that has been going around, but is much better now. he is starting to feed himself some finger foods!! he went to his first concert... reckless kelly one of our favorites! they played a free show in the new west 7th district in fort worth last thursday night, it was outside and early so we thought it was the perfect time to introduce live texas country music!! he even got a picture with the band!
he has started to pull up on things!! he is really enjoying swim lessons and is getting really good at his "3 second swims!!" and he got his first pair of converse!!!
he (umm i mean mommy and daddy) is also getting ready for his first time away from mommy and daddy...... they are going on their first overnight trip since he has been born. he is really excited about getting to spend some time with wonderful grandparents and auntie ali and uncle matt while we are in VEGAS!!! even though we are going to be so busy the whole time on the trip i am sure i will find time to miss!

this sixth month has been all about moving!! oh my word, i really do think i am going to have my hands full! he is already into everything! funny story that i probably shouldn't tell but oh well... so the other day he was on his blanket playing with his toys in the living room like he does alot. i went into the kitchen to do dishes or something and all of a sudden when i peeked in (you can see in the living room from the kitchen in our house) he had made his way over to the fireplace and had the lighter that daddy uses to start fires!!! ooooppppsssyyyy! we have done some child proofing, like the outlet covers, but now we are really going to have to watch what we have on his level!! its crazy!
he has been sooo much fun though, he giggles and smiles all the time, he is eating up a storm, pretty much anything, baby food consistency that is and is finally sleeping through the night... i can finally say that with confidence that he really is doing it consistently!!! yay!!

hard to believe its been half a year already! best half a year of our lives!

Wow! oh how time flys! Can't believe it has been 5 months since we welcomed this little person in our lives, and oh how we thought we knew what we were getting ourselves into. We had no idea! This journey thus far has been far better than I could have ever dreamed of... far more rewarding, challenging, miraculous, and wonderful than I could have ever imagined and it just keeps getting better and better everyday!

"I'm dreaming of a white Christmas!"

Oh what a wonderful couple of weeks it has been spending lots of time with family, celebrating the birth of our Christ Savior and documenting many "firsts" for our little one! We started off last weekend in Garden City having Christmas with Justin's family. Hayden got to see his first deer that uncle Brian shot, spent lots of fun time with Gigi, pa-paw, uncle Brian and Tia Jess and got to open lots of fun toys. He even got his first football! (well I think it was more for daddy)

Next stop, mimi and poppa ted's! This night we got all dressed up to go to the Christmas Eve candlelight service at church, which has been a family tradition ever since I can remember, but ended up staying home and had our own little service with live entertainment at home since the roads were icy.

Christmas morning, we woke up to a white Christmas! It was so beautiful! Then all eyes were on little Hayden! Check out the massive stocking mimi got for Hayden. I told her she is going to have to have one that big for all of the grandkids!
Hayden got really good at pulling off the bows and putting them in his mouth!

Then outside for Hayden to see his first snow! We put a blanket on the ground to take pictures and he sat all by himself for a few seconds just so we could take a few pictures! hehe

Auntie Ali, uncle matt and their great dane, Willie! Such a cute family! Hayden had so much fun with them... even Willie!

We have one more Christmas to go to... great granny and pa-paw Williams! We are so blessed to have such wonderful families to spend this wonderful holiday with!

So this past Friday we went for little (i use this word not in the literal sense) Hayden's four month check-up! She said everything is looking great! We do have a little bit of a flat head but I am just hoping with more sitting and being upright it will round out... we shall see.
Mr. Hayden weighted 17.9 lbs, 93% and was 27.5 inches which was off the charts!
We also started some cereal since I got the go ahead from the pediatrician. Not sure why they say starting solid foods doesn't help sleeping, cause he slept 8.5 hours that night, and has been sleeping much longer since then!
He is starting to roll from his stomach to his back, he is trying to move forward when on his belly but instead goes backwards and in circles! I think we are going to have to baby proof the house a little sooner than I expected! He can sit with his hands propped on the ground too!! He is laughing more and more, which just melts my heart! He is just growing and growing so much, we are continued to be blessed daily by all the joy he is giving us!

This past weekend after all of the turkey eating and family gatherings, Hayden got to attend his first tailgate and football game! Mommy was a little hesitant on how he would take it all, but he was a champ and really didn't fuss the whole time! We started off by hanging out with my sister and Matt and his family, tailgating a couple of hours before the game. After that it was off to the monstrostity of all stadiums... Cowboys Stadium. Even sitting 21 rows from the field, you still couldn't take your eyes off of that massive jumbo-tron and neither could Hayden!

Things are great here, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving and got to spend time with both families. We have so much to be thankful for and can't wait to celebrate what we are most thankful for... Christ's birthday!
Hayden continues to grow and blossom, he does something new everyday! We go for his 4 month check-up on friday, update to come soon!
PS Sorry Hayden your first football game wasn't a very good game, someday soon I will take you to a Longhorn game!

Hayden got to spend his first Halloween with the girls. Auntie Ali and mimi came into town for a "girls and Hayden" weekend. It was so much fun! It was so good to see Auntie Ali, she has not seen Hayden since he was just a few weeks old cause she has been so busy working hard in PT school. We miss you already. Here are some pictures from when Hayden and I met some friends out at the Flower Mound pumpkin patch today! It was a bit windy but we had fun... well until we got tired and cranky!

This past weekend both sets of Hayden's grandparents and his great granny were here to visit. Saturday was filled with playing with Hayden, watching football and eating chili! Perfect chili weather! Sunday all went to church to witness a beautiful thing.... Hayden's baptism. After church we went to our favorite bbq place in Southlake, then came home to watch the cowboys stink it up. Justin and I got to sneak away and go meet the new addition to the Vasel family, Jealynn! She is so beautiful, I can't wait to start watching her! Her and Hayden are going to be such great buds! Monday we were going to try to go to the pumpkin patch or botanical gardens to take some pictures of Hayden but this weather just isn't cooperating , so we had to make a pumpkin patch in our living room! It was such a special weekend to know that so many people are dedicated to help Hayden know and learn how much Jesus loves him! I pray to God everyday that He helps Justin and I raise him in an environment that teaches Hayden to know what God sacrificed for him.

So in the hospital when you have a baby this company comes around to take pictures of your newborn. Then you have the "option" to buy them if you want. They have you in all avenues... hormones raging, the first pictures of your newborn that you think are perfect no matter what they look like, family members there thinking the same thing... so what I'm getting at is of course I was a sucker a bought them. Then... one month later they get you again! I get a call from that photo company saying, anyone who purchases pictures in the hospital gets a free sitting fee, they come to your house take pictures of your one month old and give you a free 8 x10... well of course yet again once I saw all of them I wanted more than just the free 8x10! Whoever started this company is a genius! anyways here are some of them! They are about the cutest things I have ever seen!

Hayden and I went for his two month check-up today! Everything looked great! He is growing like a weed and the knot on his neck is getting smaller. To tell you the truth, I have been a bad PT mommy lately cause I haven't even been stretching him cause he was doing so much better.
He got his first round of shots today which I think hurt mommy more than they did Hayden! He did great with those too. He is getting so big and strong, he loves tummy time and is smiling and cooing up a storm! It is so much fun! We are so blessed to have a happy, healthy, growing beautiful boy..... couldn't ask for anything more.

Road Trip!

This past weekend Hayden took his first trip to Garden City, daddy's hometown. The drive is usually 4 and a half to 5 hour drive, and it didn't take much more with little Hayden! He did great! Just a couple of short stops to eat and change and thats it! Hayden had a busy weekend getting to meet both sides of the very large families! It is amazing to see the amount of love there is for this 6 week old little boy... and rightfully so! Justin and I are so blessed to both have such strong families to accompany us in our journey of helping Hayden grow and develop into a loving, beautiful little boy both inside and out!

Today we had Hayden's one month check-up, Dr. K says he looks great, and is still gaining weight like a champ... he weighs 11.8 lbs and is 23.5 inches long! Such a big boy! He still has the knot on his neck, but that is to be expected for a while. I am just working my magic to prevent all of the things that accompany it.
I notice changes in him everyday... in his size, shape, alertness, facial expressions and movements. I can't believe its been a whole month since I popped out this little miracle! I really do feel spoiled getting to spend every waking moment with him and enjoying his every move, sound, and smell. I feel so blessed to have such a beautiful, healthy, little boy. It truly is amazing!

first road trip!

Last week Justin took off of work and we headed to Mimi and Poppa Ted's house (my parents) for a few days! Hayden's first mini road trip and he did great! My sister was home for a few days as well. It was great for Hayden and I to get out of the house for a few days. Hayden got to experience his first time beside Mimi and Poppa Ted's pool, where he will be many, many days in his summers to come! The water was a little chilly for Hayden since it rained so we just sat at the side of the pool to get some cute pics! Summer time for Hayden at his grandparents house is so special to me because that is where I spent many summer days pretty much my whole life until my grandparents passed away. My granny and grandad built a swimming pool in their backyard when I was 4 years old, since then we spent every summer there, had every birthday party there (my sister and I both have summer birthdays) and many other holidays and events. When my grandad (who Hayden was named after) passed away about a year ago, my mom and dad took the money from his house and built a swimming pool in their backyard. I am so excited about watching my kids have as much fun as I did swimming at granny and grandad's house (mimi and poppa ted)!!my grandad and i even before they built the pool in their backyard!

p.s. if you go back and notice in all of the pictures, my son favors looking to the right! i know you are thinking, "oh you are just being a super paranoid PT mom" And that is what i thought too at first.... but being the PT mom that i am, a couple of days ago i thought to myself, i am going to feel of his SCMs (sternocleidomastoid muscle, the muscle tight in torticollis) and just make sure they feel normal. and just as i suspected, not tightness but a knot on his left scm muscle! and i mean a knot, these are the kind that i say to myself when i see one a work, which isn't that often, "man that is a big knot"
anyways... i know i am rambling but i just can't believe it!! i am going to be a working mom alot sooner than i wanted to be! we are going to the pediatrician on friday to get it checked out just to make sure that it is what it is. but all in all, God has still blessed us with a healthy, perfect, little miracle and i couldn't ask for anything more.

week one

We have officially had our first week at home with baby Hayden! It has been a very busy week as we have been to four appointments now, getting Hayden's bilirubin levels checked, second PKU screening and first pediatrician appointment. His bili levels started to come down on the fourth day, so we did not have to the photo therapy which was a blessing. We were very thankful and happy about this. He had his first pediatrican appointment on wednesday and got a great report! Dr. K said she thought his color looked great and she was so impressed on his weight gain. He has already surpassed his birth weight, plus some in one week! He weighed 8 lbs 10ozs at one week old!!! (8.54 at birth) We were so happy to hear such good things. We don't have to go back now until one month old. Hayden also has had lots of visitors, he got to meet auntie Ali and uncle Matt for the first time! Mommy and daddy even attempted a photo session with him. We got some cute pics at the expense of a few accidents on the ottoman!! but thats ok, it was worth it!
It has been absolutely wonderful welcoming him into our family and home. We are cherishing every minute of all of his sounds, smells, and movements. It is amazing how much joy he has already brought into our lives in such a short amount of time. Thanks for every one's prayers and thoughts for his jaundice, God is good and Hayden is better!

Happy Birthday!

Little baby Hayden is finally here! Born 8/5/09 at 1:32pm weighing 8.54 lbs. and 20.5 inches
Here is the story....
Tuesday night Justin and I went into L&D to start the process. At 10:30pm they inserted a medication similar to Cervadil to get things started. It helped to start my dilation and effacement. Wednesday morning, Dr. New came in to break my water, I was only dilated to a 3 but totally effaced. After my water was broke, things really took off. I dilated from a 3 to 7 in about 3 hours. Contractions became very strong and yes, unbearable. I really wanted to try to make it the rest of the way without the epidural since I was going pretty fast but I was not able to relax, focus, or concentrate on anything and did not think I would be able to get the job done once it was time to push. Once I got the epidural I was actually able to relax and enjoy the experience, and so was Justin. I was dialated to a 10 about 1pm and had him at 1:32pm!!! It was an absolute miracle, as all of you mother's out there know. I too now understand what mom's talk about when they say it is the hardest but most amazing experience you will ever have in your entire life.
We are all doing well, we were able to come home friday afternoon. I am still sore, which is to be expected but feeling better. Justin is doing such a wonderful job, waking up with me to help with every feeding and has become a diaper and swaddle champ! Hayden did develop a little jaundice so we are having to deal with that. We have had to go back up to the hospital to have his bilirubin levels checked today and tomorrow. Depending on the results tomorrow he may have to have some photo therapy, but we are not sure yet. Please pray that they start to come down and we won't have to go down that road. Now for the most important part, lots of pictures.

Update

An update from my 39 week appointment yesterday. My blood pressure was up significantly and I had gained 4 lbs in one week, which leads Dr. New to believe I am retaining water and starting to show signs of preeclampsia. In his words we need to "get this show on the road." So we are going to the hospital tonight at 9pm to "get the show on the road." In trying to cater to my wishes of a natural pregnancy, they are going to insert a medicine that will hopefully help progress my dilation and send me into labor, (best case scenario) If this doesn't work, he will break my water or we may have to resort to pitocin. Whatever the case may be, I am just praying for a safe and healthy delivery for both Hayden and I. Please keep us in your prayers throughout the next couple of days!

38 weeks

I saw Dr. New today for my weekly appointment and he checked to see if I have dilated at all. He said my cervix was very soft (which is good) and that I am 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. Really this doesn't mean anything or predict anything, just that Hayden is definitely getting ready. He is in the perfect position, head really far down and with it facing towards my back. I am having lots of Braxton Hicks contractions and lots of pressure, but nothing consistent. I continue to pray that he comes within the next week and a half before Dr. New goes on vacation! But most of all I pray for patience, and a safe and healthy delivery for both Hayden and I whenever that time may be!

What a wonderful and productive weekend. Friday the girls from work threw me a baby shower and showered Hayden and I with lots of fun stuff! All of the last little things that we had not gotten off of our registry as well as the cutest clothes ever!! I have truly been blessed to work in the facility that I have been working in the past two years with such wonderful women. I have not only learned sooo much professionally but have gained lots of friends that I know will last a lifetime. I am so sad we did not get a group picture from the shower, I totally meant to! Anyways, thanks to all of you girls for everything, the shower was so much fun and Hayden is definitely going to be stylin! I am so blessed to have each and every one of you in my life! I also look forward to joining the play dates!!
The rest of the weekend Justin and I spent cleaning the house, assembling all of the baby gear, washing all of his clothes, and putting the finishing touches on his room, all it needs now is the little guy! We are so excited and can't wait for his arrival. Please keep us in your prayers the next several weeks as we just patiently await God's plan for his arrival.

Today I had my 34 week appointment with Dr. New. Everything continues to look good and Hayden continues to grow, grow, grow. I go back in 2 weeks and then weekly after that! Hayden and I had a shower in my hometown this weekend given by some of my mom's best friends. It was alot of fun, very laid back and relaxing. We opened presents, ate homemade ice cream and then hung out by my mom and dad's pool. Hayden got lots of cute summer stuff including a little swim suit that looks like it will fit him right when he comes out of the womb!!

This past weekend my wonderful husband and I celebrated our one year anniversary. We went and got a couple's massage at a spa in Fort Worth, which was very nice and relaxing. Saturday night we went to a nice dinner at the new restaurant on the top of Reunion Tower call Five Sixty. It was really fun, with an amazing view. The ball made about a revolution and a half while we were there. The view of downtown Dallas is really awesome. We reminisced all weekend about the memories we had from Jamaica and how much fun we had one year ago. I feel so very blessed God put Justin in my life. He is all I could ever dream for in a husband and this has been the best year of my life. Now we are so excited about adding a new member to our family and couldn't be happier! God is good.

Relaxing Weekend

Here are a few pics from Memorial Day weekend, just chillin by mom and dad's new pride and joy... their pool! As most of you know, my dearly beloved grandad (who Hayden is being named after) passed away a year ago come July. He and my granny put a pool in there back yard when I was 3 or 4 years old. We spent many, many summers by "granny and grandad's pool," many birthday parties, etc. It was a huge part of mine and my sisters adolescence and childhood. When my parents decided to take what grandad left them and put a pool in their backyard, I was thrilled. I knew grandad wouldn't have had them spend that money any other way. I think without it my mom would be lost this summer, and I would probably be asking myself all summer, "why am I not by the pool at grandad's?" Needless to say, I am so excited to see my parents play the role of "going to granny and grandad's" (but it won't be granny and grandad, they still haven't decided what they want to be called) They were such a big part of my life and I am so excited to see Hayden enjoy his grandparents as much as I did mine!

12 week countdown!

On monday, my beautiful mother and I went to my 28 week prenatal visit. It was so fun to see how excited she got when Dr. New was going from body part to body part pointing out everything on the screen. We got to see his little face and his mouth was moving, it was really cool. Then I had to drink that really sugary drink, which made me all jittery and then have my blood drawn an hour later for the glucose test which screens for gestational diabetes. Today the nurse called and I past the test!! Yea! Now the 12 week countdown begins. I go back to the doctor in 3 weeks and then every two after that until weekly the last month!! Thinking and praying for you Lizze, Jarod, and Carter. Can't wait to meet him. I will be anticipating a intimate pep talk from a Bradley classmate first hand to prepare myself!!

This weekend we have been working hard on Hayden's room. We put up a chair rail around the room and daddy put together his furniture. I have ordered the bedding but it won't be here until June. Basically the room will be lots of bright fun colors with a few guitar things thrown in that I have managed to find.

Just a quick update from our 20 week appointment which was a week and a half ago! Hayden is looking great and just growing, growing, growing. Dr. New gave us a picture of his little, big foot. He has really been moving lately, I have been able to feel his arms and his legs poking at me. Justin has also been able to feel his moves. He is an active little fart.
Congrats to Katie and Ryan on their beautiful little boy. Our thoughts are with Andrea and Greg as they should meet little Bradley any day now as well as Anthony and Amanda as they patiently await the arrival of their little girl, our prayers are with you all.

The Wedding

Last weekend my sweet baby sista got married! Everything was beautiful. The weekend started off with a little Williams jam session at my parents house to kick off the weekend as well as celebrate Justin's birthday! Friday morning we woke up and had a day at the salon getting our finger nails and toe nails done. I had to ask for one of those mask thingys cause little Hayden was smelling too much of it! Friday night was had the rehearsal dinner at a cute little local Italian food restaurant in Denison, Texas right down the street from where the reception was located. Saturday the ceremony was held at the little Methodist Church we grew up in, in Tom Bean, Texas. We were pleasantly surprised that it held everyone, but just barely!! Ali looked absolutely beautiful and I managed to make it through the ceremony with only shedding a couple of tears as she walked down the aisle. For those of you who are wondering, yes my dress fit but just barely. It took at least 4 hands to zip is all the way up and I did not get a deep breath in all night!! The reception took place at Katy Depot in downtown Dension, (we actually had one of our proms there in high school) the building is beautiful with white tall columns that surround the dance floor, not much decorations that were needed. We ate fajitas catered by our long time family friends that own a local Mexican food restaurant and the same band that played at our reception. The night was lots of fun and everything went great and was beautiful. Here are a few pictures. A funny side note: Lots of people at the wedding and the reception did not recognize my husband and several people that have met him many times before came up to me and asked me who I was with! I had to explain that I am now married to a hippy!

Today we had our 16 week check-up. After several minutes of poking around and the little one moving around, the doctor finally found what we were anxiously waiting to find out. ITS A BOY!! We are thrilled! The little guy was moving all around and the doctor said everything looked good! Now the fun begins!

Anticipation

So along with the couple of dreams I have had that the baby inside of my tummy is a boy, I have had another event happen to me yesterday to instill these feelings yet again. I was at hobby lobby just meandering about, like I do everytime I step foot inside that store, and I came across all of the letters of the alphabet, a set in white and a set in black both in different kinds of fonts. With just a week left (God willing) to find out the sex of our baby I have had thoughts of room ideas for either. If it is a girl, it will definitely be girly, probably hot pink, black and white and if it is a boy probably some shade of green, white, and brown. So the letters in hobby lobby were super on sale and super cute, so I got H-A-Y-D-E-N in the white letters and then walked over to the black letters. I picked up A and U and went for the D and it was empty.... all of the letters for the name Audrey were there except D. So I put the A and U back and said to myself "well it must be a boy." So despite my trying to be equal and buy both names... once again my feelings confirmed. But, no matter what, boy or girl we are so excited and will love and cherish with all of our hearts! We pray that he or she continue to be healthy and continue to grow and develop into our beautiful miracle!

Hands and Feet!

We had our 12 week appointment yesterday.... it was wonderful! We got to see the little one's two hands, two arms, two legs, and two little feet!! We heard the heartbeat at a very rapid 168 bpm. The doctor said everything looked good and by next visit he should be able to tell us the sex!! I continue to be very very tired and an extremely picky eater, especially a night. What a blessing it was to see such a huge development in just one month! This first pic is of a leg and foot.

Its been a while

So it has been a while since I have posted anything and that is probably due to my bedtime going from 10:30-11 to ummmm 9!! So here are a few pics from skiing in Colorado with my sister, Ali, her finace, Matt and his parents. Lately I have been feeling good except for being really tired and my jeans have actually been fitting a little bit tight around the waist!!! This is probably not due to my belly getting bigger just yet, rather than me eating more that usual.

What a wonderful Christmas present we got this year! To see our little one's heartbeat for the first time. It was beating away very strong and very fast! From head to "rump" measures a whole 1.13cm, shown with the dotted line. Everything is looking good and the official due date is August 10th. Hope everyone is having a fabulous Christmas. God Bless

Missing You

As Christmas day arrives upon us this week I begin to feel happy and sad at the same time when I think about my beloved grandfather, Hayden Pitman who left us to go be with his God and the love of his life in July of this year. There has not been one Christmas day in my life thus far he has not been a part of. The day was spent opening all of the gifts he and my granny spoiled us with, eating lots of good food as well as celebrating his and my granny's anniversary. They were married on Christmas day in 1941; 63 years of marriage when my granny passed 3 years ago. Their love for their family and each other was indescribable and it inspires me to strive to be the same kind of role model for my children and grandchildren as they were for me. These last three years my grandad had been happy to still be here with the rest of the family, but since his soul mate had been gone he did not have the same pep and glow to him especially on Christmas day. So as my selfish side wishes he was still physically here to celebrate another Christmas day and to soon meet a great grandchild who will be named after him, I know he is sitting in Heaven with his soul mate with that pep and glow restored watching over us. Please know how much you will be missed this Christmas and always.

Okay so after several months of saying I was going to create one of these things, I have finally got the motivation (and lots of help from co-workers) after several big events for Justin and I. After getting married in Jamaica 6 months ago, buying our first home, and now finding out one of the biggest blessings of all.... we are going to have a precious little one!! We are so excited and now that we have this blog, it will be much easier to keep all friends and family in the loop of what is going on and updates and such! Here are a few pictures of our new home which seems like infinite space compared to the lion's den we were in for a short period of time. God is good and has throughouly blessed our marriage and life together thus far. We are so happy and excited to see what is in store for our future!

And we can't forget our first addition to our family... Ringo! And yes, we named him after one of the Beatles. We adopted him from border collie rescue and have had him for about 2 months now. He was abandoned in the back yard of a lady's home who went to a nursing home. He is very timid and scared of new situations and people at first but has warmed up to us and his new home!
